A Beeville native who once worked to attract new business to the area has been named the new executive director of the Bee County Chamber of Commerce.

Lisa Yanez-Del Bosque, who until recently served as administrative assistant for the Bee Development Authority, assumed office on Monday, Jan.4.

“I anticipate Lisa will have an immediate and very positive impact on the Chamber and our membership,” said Chamber Board Chairman Jessy T. Garza. “Each of our members should expect a personal visit from her in the very near future. I expect every one of our members will quickly see why Lisa was selected for this critical position.”

Del Bosque said she relishes the challenge of energizing the Chamber, and looks forward to meeting each and every one of its members.

“The Chamber is an important factor in the economic development of this community and I look forward to being a big part of that process,” she said.

Joe B. Montez, executive director of the BDA, said he heartily endorsed the move by his former employee.

“The Chamber and the business community have gained a partner who will work smartly and tirelessly to make business better in Beeville and Bee County,” he said. “She has the full support and backing of the BDA.”

Del Bosque is currently attending the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio and will graduate this August and receive a bachelor’s in human resources with a minor in organizational development. She plans to continue her education and pursue a master’s of arts in administration.

Del Bosque is the current chairwoman of the Bee County Child Welfare Board.

She is married to Jessie Del Bosque, son of Francis Del Bosque. Jessie is currently stationed at Fort Hood. They have two children, Joshua and Jaime. She is the daughter of Rebecca Rivas and John Yanez and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Rivas Sr. of Beeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Yanez of Refugio.

Del Bosque replaces Pam Priour Stuart, who left last fall for professional reasons.
