Emi Riemenschneider this week announced that she has filed to run in the Democratic Party Primary in March. Riemenschneider submitted the following statement:

“I, Emi Pullin Riemenschneider, do hereby announce my candidacy for Justice of the Peace for Pct. 2.

I am a life-long resident of Refugio County, having graduated from Refugio High School in 1988. My husband of 20 years, David Riemenschneider, is employed by Hilcorp Energy Company.

Together we have one daughter, Sarah who is a middle school student at Refugio Junior High School. We are active members of the First Baptist Church in Woodsboro.

At present I am employed by Refugio County as an office assistant to the district attorney for the 24th judicial district, a position I have been privileged to hold for 12 years.

From a young child my parents, Marydel and Sidney Pullin, taught my siblings and me, both by example and discipline, the value of family, faith, and diligent labor, and to demonstrate by conduct and behavior the importance of godly character in all we do.

Should I be entrusted by you, the voters, to serve in this capacity as your justice of the peace, I pledge to approach and carry out the duties and responsibilities associated with this office with the above values as my guide.

I furthermore pledge to serve as your full-time justice of the peace, to work with all elected officials and law enforcement agencies of our area to ensure the laws of our judicial system are applied fairly and equably to each and every citizen of Refugio County, and to provide capable and competent leadership that is demanded and expected by the constituents of the one who holds this office.

Having benefitted and profited by way of experience as one who has served alongside some of the finest and most capable legal-minded individuals of Refugio and adjoining counties, I feel most confident, should you grant me the privilege and honor of serving you in this capacity, that you will not be disappointed in the job I will do as your justice of the peace for Pct. 2.

I cherish your thoughtful consideration of my candidacy for this office, and relish your voter support in the upcoming March 2, Democratic Primary.”
