An opening reception with the artist will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m.
“There is no more sophisticated painter working in the Southwest. Richard Stout stands apart… he is an artist of our time,” Edmund P. Pillsbury, Ph.D., fine arts scholar and past director of the Kimbell Art Museum in Dallas, noted in a 2001 exhibition catalogue essay.
“Art in Houston and art in Texas is richer and more vivid due to the lifelong contributions of Richard Stout,” said William Reaves, independent curator, author and gallery owner in Houston.
