Taft was hot from the opening tip, racing out to a 19-9 first period lead. The Greyhounds were also playing some pretty tough defense as they held the Bobcats to just five points over the second quarter while netting 14 tallies of their own. It was a 33-14 game at the half.
The Hounds and Bobcats played tight in the third period with the former adding three more points to their lead with a 12-9 quarter. The scoreboard had the home team in front, 45-23, going into the final stanza.
The Greyhounds posted 14 fourth quarter points while holding the ‘Cats to 10.
Connor McCarn led Skidmore with 20 points. Zach Mengers had three points and Rene Jimenez and Ben Davis each recorded two.
The Bobcats were in Banquete on Tuesday evening to tangle with the Bulldogs in another ‘Cat and ‘Dog tussle. The Bloomington Bobcats will travel to Skidmore on Friday night to challenge the Bobcats.
