The men handled Robstown very well, according to the coaches, with a 67-18 victory thanks to pins by Guy Rodriguez (130), Aaron DeLeon (152), Brandon Jimenez (160) and Brent Puga (285).
The team also benefited from third period victories by Oscar Perez (135) and Cordell Aguirre (145).
Beeville’s second match of the dual this week was against the Moody Trojans.
Again, Beeville came out on top with a score of 42-24.
John Paul Rodriguez (180), Brent Puga (285), Brandon Jimenez (160), and Amanda Villegas (95) all pinned their Moody counterparts. Oscar Perez (135) was able to hang out the entire third period and came out victorious with a score of 5-4. Christian Moron (125) fought hard for six minutes and came from behind to force an overtime in which he aggressively shot-in against Moody’s Dominguez to steal the win with a final score of 10-8.
The Beeville Trojans traveled to Moody last Tuesday to dual against the home team and Ray
. This will be their last competitive match before heading down to Corpus Christi King for the district tournament Feb. 6.
