Top cowboys aim to win hearts of bull-riding fans

A Valentine’s Day filled with flowers, candy and bulls? It can only happen in South Texas, as the CBR comes to Beeville on Feb. 14.

The CBR is led by bull riding icon, Tuff Hedeman. Championship Bull Riding, Inc.

CBR is a nationwide professional bull riding tour, which airs primetime every week on both GAC and RFD-TV, reaching more than 55 million viewers annually. Labeled the fastest hour on television, the CBR promotes professional level bull riding since 2004.

Many of the professional bull riders to ride in Beeville are top-ranked performers on the CBR, PBR and PRCA circuits.

This will be the first CBR, Horizon Tour presented here.

A commitment by PRCA Rodeo Companies Broken Arrow, Bad Company and their champion stock will bring world-class bulls to South Texas.

This CBR event is a tribute and memorial honoring the late Sonny Fox, a bull rider and native of Bee County, supporter and mentor to many cowboys throughout his life.

The CBR event will be held at the Bee County Expo Center with the performance beginning at 7 p.m.

Gates will open at 5 p.m.

CBR, PBR clowns and barrelmen Ace Loyd, Wesley McMannus and world champion bull fighter “Smurf Horton” will also be featured, along with professional rodeo announcer Shane Burris of Mosca, Colo.

In addition to a full performance, the arena will be transformed into a lighted stage by Budweiser where a dance will follow, featuring RCA recording artist J.R. Castillo & Unwound.

Tickets for the night’s performance and dance are: $10 presale and $15 at the gate. Kids age 6 and under are free.

Full concessions will be available.

Presale tickets will be on sale Monday at all of the Pantry Store locations in Beeville, Cavendars in Corpus Christi, the Bee County Chamber of Commerce and Bee County Expo Center.

There will be a special gift for the first 100 ladies with paid admission.
