Govella was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Refugio County Retired School Personnel.
She was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Refugio to Daniel Francisco and Beatrice Beltran Contreras.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Julius E. Morgan; her brother, Abel D. Contreras; her sister Vivan Skillman; John Morgan, the father of her son; Calistro V. Rodrigues, the father of her daughters and Joaquin Govella, her husband.
Survivors include her three daughters, Diana Brooks-Girdner and husband John of Houston; Jeannette Allen and husband Robert of Montclair; Va.; and Veronica Rocha and husband Ramiro of Refugio; her sister Barbara Davidson of Corpus Christi; two brothers Richard and Benjamin Contreras, both of Refugio; five grandchildren; great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2 at St. James Catholic Church with the Revs. Father Zenon Knowalek and Father Phillp Panackel.
Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Reymundo Rocha, Marcello Ramirez, Onofre Orosco, Ernest Guerrero, Arturo Loya and Reynol Jaso.
Honorary pallbearers were Danny Elizalde, Roland Cantu, Fred Garcia, Michael Villarreal and Richard Sanchez.
