Jimmy Jackson also spoke to the group, enlightening them about his photography on the buildings, owners and businesses of Beeville then and now with a brief history and architectural descriptions.
Jayne Duryea, chairperson of the Fine Arts and Kinesiology Divisions at Coastal Bend College, expanded on continuing education with emphasis on the glassblowing workshops offered at the college.
Judge Terry Simpson of San Patricio County informed the group of exciting things happening in San Patricio County. He informed the group of the development of a Chinese steel manufacturing plant that will eventually employ approximately 600 workers with an average salary of $60,000. Once up and running, the plant will attract three to four other companies, which would affect Bee County and surrounding counties positively.
Visitors were Juliet Manaud, Rotary exchange student from France, Sarah Walsh, former exchange student from Australia, Scott Willey, DeAnn Pearce, Sheriff Carlos Carrizales, Detective Kenneth Southmayd and Jody Council.
Beeville City Manager Tom Ginter was installed as a new Rotary member.
