On Dec. 4, 2009, I, Judy Wyatt, filed to run for McMullen County Treasurer, since the current treasurer had announced his retirement.

I married John Clay Wyatt, a native of McMullen County, on August 1, 1970. I graduated from Texas A & M, College Station, in December of 1971, with a Bachelor of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction: Secondary Education in Business and Language Arts.

I student taught at A & M Consolidated in College Station, and I taught my first year in

Bryan in 1972-’73. I have lived in McMullen County since 1973, teaching business classes in Pleasanton for one year. I taught business and language arts in Junior High and High School for 29 years in Tilden, retiring in May of 2003.

In my 31 years of teaching, I sponsored many classes, managing their money very carefully. Before beginning my teaching career, I worked for an architectural firm in Houston as an accounting clerk and keypunch operator (early days of computers). I sponsored accounting students who competed at the State UIL Meet in Austin, who became CPAs, accountants, and/or have jobs using the skills learned in my business classes.

I am honest and dependable, and I think my experience with computers and accounting principles, along with my desire for the job, offers reasons to cast your vote my way.

Thank you for your consideration. Your vote and support will be appreciated.
