“Cathy is great with the kids and is able to maintain their attention while demonstrating effective dental hygiene,” said Stephen Maldonado, principal.
Dr. Rainey and his staff reached out to area schools this month to promote safe and effective dental care. Models, illustrations and helpful brochures were shared with the children.
Each student received a brand new toothbrush in a travel case. The kids also learned about the evolution of the human jaw and why most people do not keep their wisdom teeth in modern times.
The students also received instruction on what foods are best for maintaining good, strong teeth and healthy gums.
Fourth grade student, Cecilia Diaz, sadly said, “I learned that one of my favorite snack foods has acid in it and now I can’t eat it anymore because it might ruin my teeth.”
