Our Texas has a rich history and we enjoy traditions. We Texans are very proud of our history--but we don’t celebrate it as widely as we should. It can be a time when native Texans and transplants, young and old, can be united in learning more about our great state and its history. We must take time to share this awesome state’s history with all our young people, so that they might understand and appreciate their heritage.
On every March 2, we should celebrate Texas Independence Day in a big way. I am purposing that at 12 noon on March 2, of every year, we pause and announce -- “It’s high noon on this Texas Independence Day! God bless Texas!” And remember to thank your lucky stars that you are living here.
