The Coastal Bend Community Foundation of Corpus Christi presented the Good Samaritan Ministries of Refugio County with a $7,500.00 grant. The grant will be used to purchase food items for senior citizens and the less fortunate in the county.

The Good Samaritan distributes food and clothing to senior citizens on the first and third Mondays of each month and on every Tuesday and Thursday to persons in need from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on each of these days.

Volunteers from numerous churches help with the administrative duties and distribution of food and clothing.

“All of the volunteers are deeply grateful to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation for this grant so that we can continue our task of assisting the less fortunate in our communities,” said Jim Henke, president.

“We also want to express our appreciation to the many individuals and organizations who have so willingly donated food and money to support our cause. Your generosity has been outstanding.”
