GWHS Special Olympics Bowling team participate in Winter games

The G.W.H.S. Special Olympics Bowling Team participated in the 2010 Winter Games in Austin.

The team competed at State Level Bowling competition along with 2,700 athletes all over the State of Texas.

It was another great year of competition, and a very successful trip for the team.

We would like to thank the George West Administration, staff and student body for their continuing support.

A special thanks goes out to the George West Fire Department and Police Department for the exciting send off that is given to the team before take off.

The George West Special Olympics team will be hosting a local track meet on March 12th.

There will be four school districts participating, and they are Calallen I.S.D., Alice I.S.D. , Three Rivers I.S.D. and George West I.S.D.

Over 60 athletes are scheduled to show up to the Longhorn field to show their enthusiasm and special talent in differ track and field events starting at 9:30 a.m.

Come and show you support to these Special athletes from the surrounding districts.

The results of State Bowling Competition is submitted below.

Frankie Davis – Silver medal

Pamela Estes – Bronze medal

Roland Bernal – 5th place ribbon

Laura Carvajal – 6th place ribbon

David Brandenburg – 7th place ribbon
