The Trojan varsity soccer team dropped into a tie for second place in the District 57-4A race on Tuesday night as the front-running McCollum Cowboys edged the Beeville boys, 2-1.

The Cowboys are alone in first place with just one game remaining on the schedule at 7-2-0 while the Trojans and the Harlandale Indians are tied for second at 6-3-0.

All three teams have secured a spot in the postseason playoffs.

The Beeville boys got one goal from Chet Sparks, just up from the JV squad, as the Cowboys defense proved to super tough.

The Trojans will play their season finale today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. against the visiting Floresville Tigers.
