In addition to arrests, the sheriff’s office received 199 complaints the week of March 2-8.

A George West woman reported that her dad had five saddles stolen from his place the night before. They were following a beige SUV in the same area. They were trying to get close to the vehicle to get a license plate number but it kept taking off on them. The woman said her nephew was in the area earlier and saw the same vehicle. The windows were down and it was occupied by approximately three people; driving extremely slow like they were looking for something or someone. He drove down to another road and turned around, thinking they were up to something and then they blacked out their headlights and lost him.

A man traveling on Hwy. 59 at the Live Oak/Bee Co. line tried to pull a gun on a Texas Highway Patrolman during a traffic stop. As the trooper was approaching the vehicle, the driver tried to pull a hand gun out of the waist band of his pants. Soon, a deputy was on the way to jail with the subject. Three assault rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammo were recovered, along with the pistol the subject had on his person.

A Lagarto man requested an officer because someone had broken into his house. The subject who broke in left a jacket behind.

A woman west of George West, en route to her house, advised that her daughter was home alone. She heard someone yelling at her from the brush near their house. The caller stated she knew there was a bailout down the road and was afraid the subjects may be in the brush. She requested an officer to go to her house and check on her daughter.

A trooper reported that he was in pursuit of a vehicle on Hwy. 59 west of George West. Several other units joined him as did an airborne unit. Eventually the vehicle went through a fence and the occupants bailed. The vehicle information was checked and the vehicle was found to be stolen through Round Rock PD. Damage to the fence was estimated at $300.

A woman east of George West said that there were cats that were on her porch that never stray. There had been a truck that was around the neighborhood and the cats are starting to wander off. She wanted extra patrol.

A woman between Three Rivers and George West reported that she had run three people off her business property because they were smoking marijuana. She identified two of them but she didn’t know the third guy. She just wanted the authorities to know that we do have marijuana around.

Xavier Gonzales, 43, of Tilden was arrested on March 6, on a warrant from Wilson Co. for theft greater than or equal to $20, less than $500 by check. McMullen Co. Justice of the Peace James Rayes set fine of $521.41. He was released, after paying fine.

Adolfo B. Guerrero, 47, of George West was arrested on March 7 on McMullen Co. warrant for driving while intoxicated. Rayes set bond at $750. He was released the same day, after posting bond.

Jimmy Guajardo, 22, of Beeville was arrested on Feb. 27, for delivery of a controlled substance - cocaine. He was sentenced to a 5 day commitment and was released on March 3.

Sergio Antonio Fairhurst, 25, of George West was arrested on March 2, for public intoxication. Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Jim Lane set bond at $400.

Carl Anthony Botzenhardt, 34, of Sandia was arrested on March 1 for public intoxication. Lane set bond at $400.

Alvin T. Cantu, 29, of Beeville was arrested on March 6, for public intoxication. Justice of the Peace Precinct Endercio Chapa set bond at $350 and assessed a fine of $185. He was released on March 7, after posting bond.

Ernesto Cruz, Jr, 18, of Cotulla was arrested on March 6, in McMullen County for possession of a controlled substance, pharmacy grade 1, less than 1 gram. Rayes set bond at $7,500.
