He was born on Nov. 27, 1925, in Berclair to Pablo Keller and Lydia Martinez. He married Susana Abrigo. He was a carpenter.
Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susana Salazar; a brother, Gilberto Martinez; a grandson, Freddy Salazar; three granddaughters, Zelda Salazar and the Salazar twins; and a great-grandson, Gage Salazar.
Survivors include six sons, Juan (Beatrice) Salazar Jr., Enrique (Patricia) Salazar, Guillermo (Biolanda) Salazar, Trino (Rosario) Salazar, Baldo (Nora) Salazar and Guadalupe Salazar, all of Beeville; numerous stepsisters; two brothers, Jesus Martinez and Pablo Keller; numerous stepbrothers; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday at Angelus Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers were John Paul Salazar, Baldo Salazar Jr., Trino Salazar, Rick Salazar, Waylon Salazar and Gabriel Salazar.
Honorary pallbearers were John Yzaguirre and J.D. Aguirre.
