Early voting by personal appearance for the May 8 City Council election in Ward 4 is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Monday, April 26.

Voting will take place at City Hall and continue through May 4.

City Secretary Tomas P. Saenz said he will keep the early voting polls open until 8 p.m. on April 3 and 4.

The incumbent in that ward, David Carabajal, 38, is being challenged by Johnny R. Martinez, 52, not Ervey Enrique “Henry” Gomez as was recently reported.

Gomez dropped out of the race recently.

Santiago “Jimbo” Martinez, Ward 2, and John Govella Fulghum, Ward 3, both without opponents, were declared the winners at a City Council meeting last month.
