“Several inmates were involved in a fight in the recreation area. Staff responded quickly, contained the situation, and all inmates were secured. At no time was the general public at risk,” said Phelps.
Two inmates were transported to local hospitals for evaluation. Several other inmates received minor abrasions and two staff members received minor injuries; they were treated by institution medical staff, Phelps said.
Phelps closed by saying, “Inmates are secured in their cells while the incident is being investigated.”
