Helen Barbara Gayle, 83, of Beeville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.

She was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Beeville to John and Natalie Henke Meinrath. She married Robert H. Gayle on Aug. 5, 1961, in Beeville. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She worked for the Soil & Water Conservation District, I.T. “Bud” O’Neil Oil Properties for many years and retired after many years from the Bee County Clerk’s office.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert H. Gayle of Beeville; two sons, Rob (Becky) Gayle of San Antonio and John Gayle of Beeville; five grandchildren, Trey, Scott and Natalie Gayle, Jenifer Standlea and Sandra Standlea DeLaGarza; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Galloway & Sons chapel with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Pat Dougherty, Robert Dougherty, Dale Rothlisberger, Albert McGuill, Trey Gayle and Scott Gayle.
