Kremers, Clee-Charlton exchange vows on New Year’s Eve

Kristin Adele Kremers and John Brian Edward Clee-Charlton were married Dec. 31, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beeville. Father Patrick Donohoe officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Hank and Karen Kremers. She wore an ivory satin gown with a drop waist and ball gown skirt with lifts, embellished with a beaded bodice, removable lace and bead cap sleeves. A four-foot lace cathedral train completed the ensemble. Her jewelry consisted of a pearl necklace, bracelet and drop earrings, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and calla lilies.

Keleigh Kremers of Forest Grove, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Karoline Kremers of Jackson, Miss., sister of the bride, and Christelle Ford of Louisville, Ky., Jody Warner of Lubbock, Whitney Fuller and Michelle Petter, both of Dallas, and Julie Smith of Sydney, Australia. They wore dresses by Waters and Waters with black crocheted halter tops, black sashes and full-length ivory A-line skirts with lifts. Each carried a black fur muff in lieu of flowers and wore a red rose in her hair.

The flower girls were Christina Wyatt of Houston, cousin of the bride, and Piper Gayle Hoskins of Beeville.

Ring bearers were the groom’s nephews, Arthur and Freddie Chilman of Salisbury, England.

Serving as best man was Michael Donnely of Dallas. Groomsmen were Austin and Cameron Kremers, brothers of the bride, Eric Soza of San Marcos, Tito Hoskins of Beeville and Michael Hole and Jimmy Stanton, both of Austin. Ushers were Luke Rowlinson of London, England, and the bride’s cousins, Colt Adams of New York City, Michael Elder of St. Paul, Minn., and Nicholas Elder of San Antonio. The candelighter was the bride’s cousin, Joseph Elder of San Antonio.

Vocalist was Dr. Jenny Warner Dharamsi with Everett McAulay providing music on the piano. The church was decorated by Father Eddie with Christmas trees, red and white poinsettias and candles.

The wedding reception was held at the old Manhattan Club in Beeville. Round and high-cocktail tables were adorned with back tablecloths and decorated with vases with floating candles and white roses. Music was provided by a mariachi band led by Fernando Cisneros.

The bride’s cake was a four-tiered white cake with red roses cascading down.

A family-style rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at The Cistern. Entertainment was provided by John Wayne Schulz, aka “The Singing Cowboy.” A Tex-Mex theme meal was served to 70 people.

The bride is a 2003 A.C. Jones High School graduate and a 2008 graduate of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., where she earned a degree in petroleum land management. She is employed with the Dan A. Hughes Co.  of Beeville.  

The groom is the son of Judy and Eddie Charlton of Presteigne, Wales. He is a 1997 high school graduate and a 2001 Chinchester University in Chinchester, England, graduated having earned a degree in kinesiology. He is employed by Forney and Co.

Out-of-town guests included the groom’s parents; Bernard and Mary Charlton and Paz Clee, aunts and uncle of the groom; the groom’s sister and her husband, James and Sarah Chilman of Salisbury; and the Adams, David DeMarco and Stephens families, all of Houston, relatives of the bride; the Elder family of San Antonio, Doug DeMarco of Dallas and Gisela DeMarco, grandmother of the bride, of Carrollton.

House party members included Megan Flad Riettini of Beeville; Brooke Adams of Milan, Italy, the bride’s cousin; and Sarah Chilman.

The couple spent their honeymoon at Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, and also took a trip to Presteigne, Wales, where they had their marriage blessed at St. Andrew’s Church.

The couple reside in Beeville.
