The Refugio Country Opry will welcome entertainers Robin and Samantha Pollock, Ray Goodwin and Chris Brade of Houston, along with the Opry Band at the Refugio County Expo Center at the fairgrounds, Thursday, Dec. 4.

Robin and Samantha Pollock of Rockport say they are excited about performing and tell audiences, “We just got started playing local Opry shows and are honored to share the stage with the very talented musicians in the Coastal Bend.”

They are both avid country musicians, and their repertoire features everything from classic songs by Loretta Lynn to more recent tunes by Leann Rimes.

Samantha sings with her church and school choirs. She has recently ranked one of the top 10 singers in the South Texas Regional Choir competition.

Samantha says, “I love to sing, and it’s even more fun when my mom and I can sing together.”

Samantha’s a busy young lady but still makes time in the summer to volunteer to work with disabled children.

Ray Goodwin of Victoria is a veteran country-music entertainer as well as a historian of country and an old 1950s rock music. He has appeared in Opry’s across Texas.

Admission is $5.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Hang on to your tickets because door prizes are given away during the intermission.

All net proceeds go to the Opry Scholarship fund for graduating seniors from all three county schools. For more information about the shows, call Jay or Opal Monrad at 543-4297.
