He was born in Beeville, on Sept. 8, 1957, to Andres Rocha Gonzales and Lucrecia Torres Moreno Gonzales. He was a shrimper and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers-in-law, Horacio Flores and Mark Buenrostro.
He is survived by his sisters, Andrea Flores and Janie Gonzales, both of Houston, Lupe (Armando) Rendon of Rosenberg, Criselda (Joseph Riojas) Mendoza of Deer Park, and Rosario Gonzales and Patricia (Jerry Rodriguez) Gonzales, both of Corpus Christi; his brothers, Andres Gonzales Jr. of Houston, and Edward (Blanca) Gonzales of Laredo; uncles, Arturo (Estella) and Frank (Elida) Gonzales, both of Beeville, and Clemente Sosa of Portland; his aunt, Amelia (Isidro) Casas of George West; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Guardian Funeral Home chapel in Corpus Christi, with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Corpus Christi Cathedral. Burial was to follow at Aransas Memorial Park Cemetery in Aransas Pass, with full military honors.
Pallbearers were to be Edward Gonzales, Ray Tijerina, Lewis Meza, Lewis Perez, Juan Jimenez and Carlos Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were to be all his friends from Rockport and Aransas Pass.
Arrangements were entrusted to Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi.
