Dennis DeWitt won against incumbent Susan Stasny for county commissioner, Precinct 2.
DeWitt gathered 407 total votes while Stasny received 386 – for a 21-vote margin.
Broken down, DeWitt received 211 early votes and 196 on election night while Stasny received 148 early votes and 238 on election night.
Stasny said that she had asked for the recount because of the small number of votes that separated her from her opponent.
“I had a lot of supporters ask me to verify the election results because it was so close,” she said.
Only 24 votes had separated these two candidates on election night, April 13.
That lead narrowed by three votes following the recount — not enough to win the election for Stasny.
