CORPUS CHRISTI – SCORE, the all-volunteer counselors to America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs with extensive experience in starting or managing successful businesses, offer free counseling to entrepreneurs or small business owners in the Coastal Bend area.

Funded by the City of Corpus Christi, the group will be hosting an informational session for individuals from the Beeville area who are interested in exploring volunteer counseling opportunities within the organization. Free and open to the public, the event will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 from 3 until 4 p.m. Light snacks will be provided.

SCORE is especially looking for individuals in the areas of: restaurant and food service operations and management; law, anyone with legal experience including lawyers or paralegals; marketing, advertising, and public relations; non-profit operations and management; and general business management experience.

Volunteer hour obligations are negotiable. Volunteers may be involved with face-to-face or e-mail counseling, training workshops, as well as chapter administrative duties including fund raising, marketing, volunteer recruitment, technology, and organizational leadership positions.
