The new facility features improved classroom resources, a new science laboratory and a modern interconnected design.
“This school is evidence of what happens when a community works together to make their children’s education a priority,” Rep. Gonzalez Toureilles said. “Through grants, bonds and volunteer work, the community of Pawnee can look at their new school and be proud of what they have accomplished.”
Toureilles also was impressed with several short movies the students filmed and edited for the event.
The new facility is in the process of adding a track and field area, as well as a gymnasium to be completed at a later date. The new facility also will serve as a community meeting place and a storm shelter, among other uses.
“This building is not just a school, it’s an investment in Pawnee’s future,” Rep. Toureilles said. “While you can put a price on the buildings, the computers and books here, the value of providing our students access to a quality education is priceless.”
