Memorial Day Ceremonies set for Sunday & Monday

The Woodsboro Veterans group will host Memorial Day Services on Sunday at the Square and VFW Post 6290 will host another service Monday at Oakwood Cemetery.

The Woodsboro Veterans will conduct their annual Memorial Day Service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, with three speakers., all of whom are women veterans who served the country in the military.

The guests will include Crystal Farrow, Leslie Ramirez Haug and Petty Officer Miles of N.A.S.

Members of the Patriot Guard riders will also be attending.

Flags will be placed on the veterans’ graves at La Rosa Cemetery and St. Bernard cemeteries at 12:15 p.m.

“Please join us to honor those veterans who have passed away,” said Tony Abila, one of the organizers.

A free meal will follow the ceremonies, complements of the Woodsboro Veterans and Woodsboro Merchants.

On Monday, VFW Post 6290 will host ceremonies at Oakwood Cemetery at 10 a.m.

County Judge Rene Mascorro will be guest speaker.

Presentations will be made to the daughters of two World War II veterans.

A flag will be presented to Louise Null Aduddell in honor of her father, Marvin B. Null.

Service medals will also be presented to Dianne Nowell Null, in honor of her father, John Raymon Nowell, who served in the Navy during WWII.

The post extended a welcome to the public to attend and help honor and remember all who served.
