Clara Mattie Scott McWhorter, age 91, died on May 27, 2010. She was born to Earl Edward Scott and Grace Elizabeth Scott on June 20, 1918 in White, Califonia. She married Irwin C. McWhorter in Beeville, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church (Baptist). She was a past member of TOPS and Weight Watchers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, three brothers and a step-brother.

She is survived by John L. (Sue) Miller of Beeville, Jane Graham of Beeville, Judith (Bob) Pritchard of California and Irvin (Audrey) McWhorter, Jr. of Colorado; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Monday, May 31, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville. Family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 1, at 10 a.m. at Galloway and Sons Chapel in Beeville with Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Burial followed at the Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.

Pallbearers were Mark Miller, David Miller, Tripp McWhorter, Erwin Massingale, Mike Knight and Aaron Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heart Association, Lupus Foundation or Arthritis Association.
