He was born in Clarkwood, Texas, which is now part of Corpus Christi, on Dec. 5, 1925, to Guadalupe and Margarita (Amaya) Trevino. He married Maria Magdalena Perales on Feb. 8, 1948, in Corpus Christi. The couple moved to Skidmore in 1974.
Mr. Trevino was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served his country in World War II.
He was employed with the Corpus Christi Naval Base for 36 years, where he began as a mechanic apprentice for the Navy, served in the Air Force Reserve and retired as an aircraft inspector from the Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Trevino, on July 30, 1998; and an infant son, Robert Trevino.
Survivors include his children, Juan (Susan) Trevino Jr., Isabel (Roy) Granato, Sylvia Lopez, Richard (Grace) Trevino, Margarita (David) Mendez and Guadalupe Trevino; 14 grandchildren, Eva Trevino, Yvette Hinojosa, Roy Granato Jr., Isaac Granato, Yvonne Garcia, Jason Granato, Rebekah Moreman, Jose Lopez, Richard Trevino, John Trevino, Christiana Trevino, David Mendez Jr., Miranda Mendez and Maegan Trevino; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at the Trevino residence, 8630 County Rd. 614 in Skidmore.
