After winding up the spring with a fun competition among teams of club members, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Live Oak County-George West Unit kicked off the summer with a variety of activities this summer.

On Fridays they made field trips. They traveled to San Antonio for a Magick Theater presentation and also explored the Tower of Americas 4-D Ride. They made a day of it including visits to the San Antonio Zoo, the Sunken Gardens, Brackenridge Park and taking the train ride. The next week their destination was Boerne to see Enchanted Springs Ranch and Wild West Town. The last Friday of June saw a fun trip to Corpus Christi.

Mondays included a clowning program at the club. With a different group working each day, the members learned how to put on a clown face with face paint, dressed in baggy jackets and held clown parades for the rest of the club. Each went home with a balloon animal.
