The George West Junior Varsity football team was victorious last Thursday in their game against Three Rivers.

Stand out players on the defensive side of the ball include: Quest Newberry, Cody Brown, Kaleb Davis, Cody Bartlett, Lukas Barcak, and Brian Chesser. Kaleb Davis recovered the opening kickoff and Lukas Barcak had an interception.

Stand out players for the offense include: Lukas Barcak, Cody Bartlett, Andrew Katzfey, and Avery Pawelek. Barcak had 13 carries for 259 yards with 4 rushing touchdowns.

In passing, he was 1 of 2 for 60 yards and 1 touchdown. Bartlett scored twice on 2pt conversions.

Katzfey converted 2 2pt conversions and had 13 carries for 93 yards. Pawelek had 13 yards of rushing and a 60 yard reception for a touchdown. The offensive line (Quest Newberry, Darren Rhodes, Kaleb Davis, Eli Garcia, Gavin Gass, Kyle Peck and Brian Chesser) made all this happen.

Next week the longhorns travel to Goliad to take on the Tigers and will play at 6 p.m.

These young men are hard workers and we, the coaching staff, expect great things from them.
