Mrs. Ramirez was born in Beeville on Jan. 15, 1930, to Alcario and Eulilia (Sanchez) Tapia. She married Francisco Ramirez in Beeville and worked as a sales clerk for Perry’s Bro. for 35 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Society. She was also a Eucharistic minister and a choir member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcario and Eulilia Tapia; her husband, Francisco Ramirez; two grandchildren, John Gabriel and Sarah Yvette Silva; a great-grandson, Robert Gutierrez III; and a sister, Anita DeRusse.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Jane (George) Estrada, Olga (Robert) Gutierrez, Liz Jones, Zenaida (Amado) Silva, all of Beeville, and Gracie Santana of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Aracelia (Paul) Loehr and Rachel (Ramiro) Canas, both of Beeville; a brother Tomas (Lola) Gonzales of California; and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation was held from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Musical selections were provided by the St. James Choir and Our Lady of Victory Choir. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were George Canas, Johnny Santana, Johnny Ray Gutierrez, Eddie DeRusse, Juan Antonio Gutierrez and Chris Cantu.
Honorary pallbearers were Augie Salas, Jacob Estrada, Andy Ray Estrada, Bryan Salas and all of her other grandsons.
