The Singing Men of South Texas will be in concert on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 600 N. Saint Mary’s St. in Beeville. Admission is free.

The Singing Men of South Texas is a 40-voice men’s choir composed of men in music ministry in Southern Baptist churches from the Hill Country through the Rio Grande Valley. Once a month, the group gathers in a South Texas city to rehearse and present an evening concert.

The concert, which is approximately an hour and a half in length, consists of selections of sacred music, gospel music, spirituals and contemporary praise and worship music. Director Tommy Lyons has been leading the group for more than 30 years.

The Singing Men of South Texas is one of six similar groups from throughout the state. They have sung around the world during mission projects to Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Romania, Moldova, Northern California and New England.

This is an event for the entire family. A freewill offering will be taken with proceeds going toward the next mission project of the Singing Men of South Texas.
