The Bee County Chamber of Commerce will present Winter Fest, a concert event, on Dec. 4 and 5.

The event will take place at the Bee County Expo Center. Gates will open Friday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.

That evening, the opening band will be the Josh Abbott Band, a country music act. They will be followed by Latin Grammy award winner La Mafia.

On Saturday, gates will open at 7 p.m. SIGGNO, another Latin Grammy winner, will perform first. Headlining the concert will be country singer Robert Earl Keen.

Tickets for each night are $5 per person.

Winter Fest will be held in addition to Beeville Main Street’s Christmas events the same weekend, which will include the monthly Market and Main, a visit from Santa Claus and a lighted night parade.

“We want to build off Main Street’s event and draw people to the community,” said Lisa Del Bosque, Chamber executive director.

The director said the Chamber is still looking for Winter Fest volunteers.

“We need as many as we can get,” she said.

Those interested may call the Chamber at 358-3267.

A volunteer orientation will be held Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Expo Center at 6:30 p.m. There, volunteers will learn about their duties and receive T-shirts.
