Mrs. Morales was born Nov. 21, 1951, to Herminio and Consuelo (Cantu) Licona. She married Apolito “Polo” Morales in Mathis on June 10, 1973. She graduated from Three Rivers High School and received an associate’s degree from Coastal Bend College. She was a homemaker and a member of La Esperanza Baptist Church in George West.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herminio and Consuelo Licona; and a sister, Antonia Martinez.
Survivors include her husband, Apolito “Polo” Morales of Three Rivers; a daughter, Raquel (Lalo)Tovar of New Braunfels; a son, Michael Morales of Mathis; two sisters, Juanita (Abdon) Martinez of Beeville and Adela (Jesus) Treviño of Taft; four brothers, Herminio Licona Jr. of Taft, Salvador (Maria) Licona of Wisconsin, David (Gloria) Licona of San Angelo and Ezekiel (Claudia) Licona of San Anotnio; and three grandchildren, Joseph Tovar, DavIrma Morales and Tatiana Alaniz.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Lyn Means officiating, assisted by Leonardo Cantu. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ruben Martinez, Victor Hugo Bazan, Alfredo Treviño, Christian Licona, Richard Martinez, Ricardo Treviño, Lonnie Licona and Lalo Tovar.
Honorary pallbearer was Joseph Tovar.
