Alice Culpepper Wittmer, 73, of Knoxville, Tenn. died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at her home.

Mrs. Wittmer was born in Beeville to Oren and Zelia Moore Culpepper. She was retired from Oak Ridge National Lab after 27 years of service and was a member and former president of the Oak Ridge Chapter of the IAAP. She was Secretary of the Year for ORNL. She enjoyed photography, traveling and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Culpepper Sikes.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Larry Wittmer; two sons, Terry (Rhonda) Wittmer and Richy (Anna) Wittmer, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Robert Hardin of Halls, Tenn., Brian Wittmer, Brandon Wittmer, Jessica Wittmer, Summer Wittmer and Allison Wittmer, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; two great-granddaughters; a sister, Faye (John) Cantieni of Freemont, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel in Farragut, Tenn. The family received friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter, 1660 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37830.
