Fredericksburg ‘Rockhounds’ to present annual rock show Jan. 15

The Fredericksburg Rockhounds will present the 42nd annual Hill Country Gem Mineral & Fossil Show on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Jan. 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Pioneer Pavilion of Lady Bird Johnson Park, located on Highway 16 three miles south of Fredericksburg.

Admission and parking are free.

There will also be free hourly door prizes and raffle drawings for valuable grand prizes.

Exhibits will include minerals, fossils, meteorites, gems, jewelry and demonstrations by rock experts and on gold panning.

There will be children-friendly demonstrations, displays, merchandise, games and food service.

A Rolling Rock Club meeting will be held as well on Sunday, Jan. 16, at 9 a.m. in the Pioneer Pavilion.

RV rockhounds and all gem, mineral and fossil lovers are welcome.
