Erich Leschinsky, 69, of Beeville died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, after a long-term illness.

Mr. Leschinsky was born in Vienna, Austria, where he trained and worked as a butcher and then in the printing industry. He was a volunteer for the water rescue team. He enjoyed the outdoors and learning the ways of a Texas farm and rancher.

Survivors include his wife, Eveline Brown-Leschinsky; children, Claudia and DeVon, Kathy and Terry, and Carline; a brother, Peter (Ingrid Jasczurok) Konstaky of Vienna, Austria; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Brush Country Cowboy Church, 1417 S. Hwy. 37 in George West. Immediately following the service, all were invited to a reception at the church.

In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions may be directed to a memorial fund account set up at the Navy Army Federal Credit Union at any location.

Arrangements were under the direction of Seaside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
