Charles Lee Middleton, age 68, of Tuleta, TX, passed away on Feb. 6, 2011, in Beeville, TX. Charles was born on Oct. 18, 1942, in Austin, TX, to the late Faye Egan and Estelle (Kingsbury) Middleton. He graduated from high school in Georgetown, TX, and attended Alvin Jr. College and the University of Houston. He married Patti (Harrison) Middleton in 1966 in Taft, TX. He served in the Army Special Forces as a medic and radio operator for the 82nd Airborne Unit out of Fayetteville, N.C. He lived in Houston, TX, Carbondale, CO, and Anacotes, WA, and worked as a carpenter, coal miner and lab courier. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, gardening, fishing, football, baseball, hunting, reading westerns and quilting. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, attended the First Baptist Church in Tuleta and did volunteer service in his community.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nell Bull; and brother, John Middleton.

Charles is survived by his wife, Patti Middleton of Tuleta, TX; daughter, Leslie K. (William) Paszkowski of Anacortes, WA; sons, Samuel (Christine) Middleton of Quantico, VA, and Robin (Ali) Middleton of Tuleta, TX; sisters, Sue Granzin of Athens, TX, Betty Jo Dennis of Houston, TX, Fay Schafer of Grand Prairie, TX, Mary Ann Russell of Alvin, TX, Alice Mayfield of Lakewood Village, TX, and Nancy Aidukas of Hamilton Square, N.J.; brothers, Roger Middleton of Athens, TX, and Bob Midleton of Palouse, WA; grandchildren, Christopher Middleton, Samantha Middleton, Alexander Charles Middleton, Brittany Middleton, Breana Middleton, Riley Middleton, Amber Paszkowski, Elizabeth Paszkowski and Adam Paszkowski.

A family visitation was held on Thursday, February 10, 2011, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2011, at 2 PM at the Tuleta First Baptist Church, Tuleta, TX.

Serving as pallbearers were Samuel Middleton, Robin Middleton, William Paszkowski, Adam Paszkowski, Paul Harrison, Wayne Harrison, Matthew Smith & Roger Middleton. Honorary pallbearers were Randy White and Bob Middleton.

Memorials may be made to the South Texas Helping Hands Ministry in Pettus, TX.
