Jerkins, Gibson wed on New Year’s Eve

Cathryn Elizabeth Jerkins of Beeville and Robert Gibson of Montgomery were married Dec. 31, 2010, at 4 p.m. Bill Stockton of Beeville officiated the double-ring ceremony. 

The bride is the daughter of Cathy Jerkins of Beeville, at whose home the ceremony took place, and the late J.W. Jerkins. She is a 2003 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and received a certificate in business office management from Coastal Bend College. She is currently working on a certificate in early childhood development and is employed by the Barnhart Foundation through Beeville ISD at Hampton-Moreno-Dugat Early Childhood Learning Center working with the Kinder to College program. She also does substitute teaching for BISD.

The groom is the son of Bruce and Tammy Gibson of Bandera. He attended Montgomery High School in Montgomery, graduating in 1999. He is a certified firefighter with the Aldine Fire Department and is a certified EMT, employed with Angel Care EMS in Beeville. 

The family in attendance for the ceremony included the bride’s grandparents, Layton and Corene Adams of Beeville; the bride’s aunt, Carin McNabb of Beeville; the bride’s great-aunts, Connie Mauch and Vivian Mutchler, and cousin, Lori Kalverman, all of Taft. Also attending was Kathy Stockton. The rings for the ceremony were presented by the bride’s brother, Cleighton Jerkins of Beeville.

After the ceremony, a steak dinner was enjoyed, as well as a wedding cake made by the bride’s mother. The couple are currently making their home in Beeville.
