Red Hat Club raising funds for MS cycling event in April

On Saturday, the new chapter of Beeville’s Golden Honeybees Red Hat Club will host a fashion show and charity auction for the multiple sclerosis bicycle event in Houston to be held in April. Participants in the annual bicycle event must donate $500 or more to ride. All monies from the auction will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation to help fight MS and to find a cure.

The Red Hats event will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post 274, next to Auto Zone and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts on Washington Street.

The new officers of 2011 for the club are: Janet Herro – Queen Mum, Hazel McGee – Lady-in-Waiting (when the queen is absent), Linda Walston – Duchess of Correspondence, Jan Dennis – Duchess of Treasury and Purchasing, and Willa Mae Chandler – Duchess of Prayer. Natalie Arispe will host the event. Sam Arispe will represent the MS bicycle event and with participate in the April ride.

There will be a luncheon of carry-in food. Interested ladies of all ages are invited to join the Red Hat ladies as guests. For more information, call 543-9743.
