Joseph “Joe” Berry, 88, formerly of Beeville, died Friday, March 4, 2011, in Round Rock.

Mr. Berry was born July 27, 1922, to Sylvia (Hink) and Joseph Berry in Grinnell, Iowa. He married Nell Faye Talbott in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1948, and served in the United States Navy until his retirement. He was a member of the U.S.S. Helena Organization, Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and World War II Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Faye Berry in 2005; his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Robin (Roy) Telano of Spring Branch; two sons, David (Ana) Berry of Boerne and Richard (Valerie) Berry of New Braunfels; 10 grandchildren, Teresa, Amie, Trisha, Brian, Matthew, Tomas, Chad, Nichole, Michael and Jake; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Tuesday at Highland Lakes United Methodist Church in Kingsland, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Grady Roe officiating. Military graveside services were provided by the Highland Lakes Honor Guard at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet County.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Tomas Berry, Brian Telano, Matthew Berry, Chad Berry, Michael Berry and Jake Berry.
