The sixth annual barbecue fund-raiser and dance for Corpus Christi SafePlace House, Inc. – best known as The Wenholz House and Wenholz Women’s House – will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Sokol Hall, 5502 Kostoryz in Corpus Christi.

The fund-raiser will offer home-cooked, delicious barbecue plates with all the trimmings, great, non-stop music and dancing, fun games for the kids and adults, a silent auction and door prizes.

Bands performing will include Deborah Scott and Prophecy, Dead Broke, Crossover and The Newman Band.

Community support helps the 501c3 nonprofit organization continue transitional housing programs to help adults from alcohol and drugs addiction. The organization helps them regain and maintain stability, re-enter the workforce and learn to live clean and sober lives free of addiction.

Up to 41 men and 16 women can be served on any day. Since 2205, The Wenholz House has helped hundreds of men. Wenholz Women’s House just opened in 2009, and is already opening at full capacity.

Tickets are family-friendly and affordable at $20 per person. Two levels of sponsorships are available: gold for $1,000 and silver for $500. Sponsors get reserved table for 10 and publicity during the event.
