She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years of marriage, Rodolfo (Rudy) Blakely; her sister, Lillie Barrientes; her brothers, Alfonso and Antonio Barrientes; and her great-grandson, Jordon Blakely.
Lucy was the rock of the family and supported her children and all their activities from sports to band practice. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, and she specially enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners to bring the family together and enjoy the Rangers and Cowboys games.
Lucy leaves behind to cherish her memories: one brother, Salvador (Chuco) Barrientes of Beeville, Texas; two daughters, Carrie (Manuel) Soliz of Friendswood, Texas, and Fay Jones of Desoto, Texas; five sons, Rudy Blakely Jr. of Arlington, Texas; Louis (Yolanda) Blakely of Arlington, Texas, Ralph Blakely of Waxahachie, Texas, Rene (Tammy) Blakely and Ray Blakely, both of DeSoto, Texas; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday from 11 a.m. till 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Luke officiating. Burial followed at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Barrientes, Salvador Barrientes Jr., Roland Rodriguez, Ryan Blakely, Jeffrey Blakely and Stephen Soliz.
