Entertainers will show the heat at Salsa Festival

The 12th annual Salsa Festival will be held on Saturday, April 2, beginning at 10 a.m. in downtown Three Rivers.

There will be salsa tasting and judging, children’s rides and games, a bike race, vendor craft and food booths and lots of entertainment.

Entertainment on the country-western stage will begin at 10 a.m. with Chris Rybak. The Brush Country Music Jamboree Band will begin playing at 11 a.m. Guest performers will be fiddler Ricky Turpin (who will play twin fiddles with Joe Nixon all afternoon); Bobby and Larry O’Neal of Gonzales; Allen Torrans of San Antonio; Jack Higgenbotham of Austin; Dottie Jack and 15-year-old fiddler/singer Jade Jack, both of Bay City; Brandy Davidson of Bellville, Peter Kane of San Antonio; comedienne Charlotte “Beulah Mae” Maples of Agua Dulce; the Texas Top Hands Band of San Antonio; and the Rockport Gospel Force.

Entertainment on the Tejano stage will begin with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. Other entertainers will be Dave and Lucy Darling and Linda Couk; Ruben Salazar and Patron; the Palacios Brothers; Diamantes; Retono; Los Texmaniacs; and Sons of the Rio Grande.
