Thelma Breaux Kolasci, 87, formerly of Beeville, died Friday, April 29, 2011.

Mrs. Kolasci was born in Iowa, La. to Oscar Breaux and Edna Miller Breaux on Jan. 5, 1924. She graduated from of Mauriceville High School and also from nursing school, becoming an LVN for Francis Ann Lutheran Hospital in Orange. She married Paul Kolasci Jr. on Oct. 6, 1946, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orange. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph Altar Society, Navy Relief Society and the Bowling Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Alvin Breaux, Bill Breaux, Buster Breaux and Leo Breaux; five sisters, Janet Griffith, Stella Fuller, Della Burton, Elaine Lovaasen and an infant baby sister.

Survivors include her husband of 64years, Paul Kolasci Jr.; a son, Paul Kolasci III of Dallas, a daughter, Patti (Calvin) S. Wade; a grandson, CalvinPaul “CP”, all of Bryan; a brother, Moody (Judy) Breaux of Orange; step-sisters-in-law, Brenda (Carl) Pettit of Baytown and Naomi (Willard) Maxwell of Sugar Land, her play daughter, Pam Phillips Capps; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at Trevino-Smith Funeral Home in Bryan on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral Mass was held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bryan with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating and Bob Leach assisting. Burial was at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Msgr. John McCaffrey Scholarship Fund or St. Joseph’s Church Folk Choir 600 E. 26th, Bryan Tx 77803 or the charity of one’s choice.
