Sept. 12, 1921- April 30, 2011
On April 30th, our Mom shed her earthly clothes and walked into the loving and merciful arms of Jesus.
Mom was a good and loving mother who raised us five children as a single mom. We have fond memories of the smell of cookies and cakes baking. Mom was the best baker. Whenever we had treats, mom would give out the same amount to each of us five kids so there would be no yelling, he got more. Mom was a hard working woman. She had to work to make sure we had a place to live and provide food to keep us fed. Mom never complained about all she had to do to keep all of us together. But, she sure would yell at us if we made too much noise while she was trying to take a nap. Mom is now at rest, a rest which she richly deserves.
Mom is survived by daughters Kathy Pardue of Skidmore, Texas, Charlotte Cook of Conroe, Texas, and Mary Caraway of Grand Prairie, Texas; and son Richard Stanley of Brazoria, Texas. Mom is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-greatgrandchildren.
Preceding mom in death was son Harlan Stanley Jr. and granddaughter Becky Sequeda.
A celebration of Mom’s life was held on May 14th, at 6 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Skidmore, 729 E. Patrico St. A reception was held in the fellowship hall after the service.
