Albert "AJ" Caiati passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on Feb. 12, 1931. At age 13, he moved to Hollywood, CA, to live with his father after his mother's death. AJ joined the Navy at age 17 and was stationed in Corpus Christi, TX, in 1951, where he met and married his wife of 59 years, Mary Beth Edmiston. AJ served 20 years in the US Navy and retired as a decorated Chief Petty Officer in 1967. He then served 10 years in the US Naval Reserves.

AJ owned and operated AJ TV Service in Beeville, TX, for 30 years as well as KN Rootbeer Drive Inn for 10 years. AJ and Mary Beth retired and moved to Florida in 1997. After 7 years of fishing and enjoying the beach life, they moved to Austin, TX, to be closer to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

AJ is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; his daughter, Susan Hart and her husband Bob; and son, Vincent Caiati and his wife Judi. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service was held at North Hills Community Church, 12233 Ranch Road 620 North, Austin, TX, at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 21, 2011.

Have many a childhood memory spent at the Caiati's house on Randall Street. Fun and Good times. Rest in Peace Mr Caiati.

He sponsored our Babe Ruth baseball team during the 70's. Team AJ TV. Somewhere I still have the green striped hat. May he rest in peace.
