Miss Lopez was born Nov. 28, 1940, in Live Oak County to Yrene (Baladez) and Nicanor Lopez. She grew up in the Ray Point Community and was on the Three Rivers Housing Authority Board. She was a retired secretary for Three Rivers Middle School, with whom she was employed for more than 40 years, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, crafts and was an avid supporter of the Three Rivers Bulldog Athletic Program.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicanor and Yrene Lopez; and a sister, Flora Alvarez.
Survivors include six brothers, Bernardo Lopez of Three Rivers, Clemente (Juanita) Lopez of Robstown, Felipe Lopez of Flatonia, Manuel (Irene) Lopez of San Antonio, Floyd Daniel (Irma) Lopez of Spring and Santos (Beatrice) Lopez of Wimberley; five sisters, Rosa Lopez, Angelita Lopez, Elvira (Wally) Reyna, Baudelia (Jimmy) House and Adriana (Edward) Mendez, all of Three Rivers; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Chapel in Three Rivers. A rosary was recited at Sacred Heart Catholic Church that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated there at 10 a.m. Thursday with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Vocalist Fernando Cisneros provided musical selections. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Daniel Alvarez Jr., Martin Tanguma Jr., Balerio Lopez, Ruben Lopez, Lionel Lopez, Javier Lopez, Jerry Lopez and David Daniel House.
Honorary pallbearers were her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
