Bob and Grace Butts of Beeville celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary with family members at a recent dinner party hosted by their children.

The two were married on June 13, 1936, and have lived in Beeville all but one year of their marriage. They are the parents of three children: Virginia, Roberta and Bob Jr.

Bob owned and operated Butts Radio and TV for more than 50 years, retiring around 1990. One of his most memorable moments was having the first TV set in Bee County (and he still has it). Grace was a stay-at-home mother and became well known for her cooking and craft skills. She made numerous wedding cakes over the years and taught arts and crafts classes at Coastal Bend College and First Baptist Church.

Both are longtime members of First Baptist Church and have served the Lord faithfully all their lives. Their faith sustained them in 1999, when Virginia Eichelberger, their oldest child, lost her battle with cancer.

Attending the dinner with the couple were son Bob Jr. and wife Lynn of Denver, Colo., daughter Roberta Geuea and husband James of Rocksprings, grandson Scott Eichelberger and wife Janell, and great-grandsons Gavin and Rowan, all of Jacksonville, Fla., granddaughter Kristin Sawyer and great-grandson Zachary Sawyer of Houston, and Cynthia Boon with Kelly Seis of Grand Prairie.
