Trautmann, Carpenter exchange vows along banks of the Guadalupe

Chad and Angela Trautmann Carpenter

Angela Trautmann and Chad Carpenter were united in marriage on Friday, Aug. 26, on the shore of the river in Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch.

More than 60 guests attended the afternoon ceremony, traveling from Tuleta, Beeville, Corpus Christi, La Vernia, San Antonio, Canyon Lake, Rockdale, Houston, Dallas, Virginia and Johannesburg, South Africa. Also, nine family members, friends and co-workers of the bride flew in from Germany.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Oma’s Secret Garden in the Gruene community of New Braunfels, where guests enjoyed a barbecue dinner and dancing.

Angela, formerly of Wolfenbuttel, Germany, has worked as a nurse in the emergency room, dialysis and with geriatric patients. Chad, formerly of Tuleta, graduated from Pettus High School, Bee County College and attended Texas A&M University in College Station before working for eight years in Antartica as an electrician.

The couple met while traveling in New Zealand.
